Reel 1, Part 1 shows map of Korea and U.S. troops and supplies disembarking at Pusan. Artillery and mortars fire on advancing North Korean forces and U.S. tanks and infantry move up. Captured Russian equipment is inspected and wounded are evacuated by air from the Taejon airfield. Part 2, the 1st Cavalry Division makes an amphibious landing on the beaches near Pohang, Korea under cover of naval units offshore and Gens. Gay, Plummer, and Wilson inspect the beachhead area. Tanks and motorized equipment roll into Pohang. Reel 2, Part 1, jet planes take off from the aircraft carrier Valley Forge and strafe enemy positions near Pohang, Korea. They return to the carrier and one makes a crash landing on deck. Part 2, U.S. troops engage in rear-guard street fighting in the ruins of Taejon as North Korean forces continue to advance. Engineers lay a bed of rocks on a stream bottom north of Taejon to facilitate the crossing of light vehicles as troops of the 25th Infantry Division recover vehicles under fire from entrenched North Korean troops. A bridge is thrown across a river near Yongdon and 24th Infantry Division troops round up North Korean prisoners as South Korean troops move up to aid in the defense. Reel 3, Part 1 shows gun camera scenes of strafing of roads and installations in North Korea by U.S. planes as B-29 bombers take off from 19th Bomber Group bases on Okinawa and bomb Seoul and Hungnam and F-80 jet planes take off from Japan and attack communications. Part 2, troops of the 1st Marine Brigade land at Pusan, and North Korean equipment is shown. MacArthur greets Harriman as he deplanes in Japan.

Hobart Raymond Gay (b. May 16, 1894-Aug. 1983) was born in Rockport, Illinois. He received his commission in the U.S. Cavalry in 1917, and advanced to the rank of brigadier general in June 1943, and major general in March 1945.
